Condolence & Memory Journal

I came to the Forest Product Marketing Lab in 1965 to start a research program. I was lucky to meet and work with RIchard from then until he retired and I missed him for a long time after he left. He was an important part of our group Each of us had our jobs to do and we had to rely on each other in carrying out our work. More than that, though, I enjoyed being around him.As I write this, I am looking at hs picture and smiling back at him.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Kaegan and I will never forget Richard. Many a morning I would show up to drop K off and Richard would be waiting to scoop him up and take him outside with him. K loved him some Richard. You all are in our prayers during this time. May God bring peace and comfort.

I always remember as a little girl looking foward to coming to see Grandma and Grandpa Martin and I remember the first place I wanted to go was the trailer Uncle Richard and Aunt Lila lived in even after a long trip from our home in Tennessee. I remember that anytime Nana or Momma would callfor help, Richard was right there and Lila too. Richard was a master woodworker and made Nana a spice that she loved and is now hanging in my own kitchen. We love you Richard and you will always be in our hearts.
