Agnes E. Ratliff Keys, 88 of Bee Street, Princeton, passed away, surrounded by family at home Thursday, February 2, 2012 to her new heavenly home. Born February 10, 1923 in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Martin Ratliff and Addie Stables Ratliff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewie Keys, son Dennis Keys, granddaughter Wendy Keys, brothers Fred, Estil, Tommy and Virgil Ratliff and a sister Hazel Tyree. She worked as an Army nurse during World War II, and later followed a nursing career at the old Princeton Memorial Hospital, St. Lukes Hospital, Bluefield, Princeton Community Hospital, and as a nurse for Dr. Wier of Bluefield. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years at New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Princeton. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, David Keys and Dwight Keys both of Princeton, Phillip Keys and wife Debbie of Bluewell; daughter Dreama Meadows & husband David of Princeton; two brothers Donald Ratliff & wife Yvonne of Columbus OH; J.C. Ratliff & wife Phyliss of Prince George, VA; and one sister Hilda Jean Gillispie of Richmond, VA; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Bentine Furches and Roger Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
