Eddie Arnold Shrewsbury, 68, of Covel Road, Matoaka, died peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. Born April 28, 1943 at Amigo, he was the son of the late Carl Shrewsbury and Lillie Miller Shrewsbury. After his schooling, he entered the Army to serve his country from 1961 until 1963. Following his time in the service, he worked in the Coal mines for a few years, later working at Eastern Vault Company and retired from Worldwide Equipment in Princeton. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Eddie loved dirt tracking racing and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Raymond Carl Shrewsbury and Wayne Clyde Shrewsbury. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Tonya Shrewsbury Friedrich & husband Daniel and Tina Shrewsbury Bell all of Matoaka and her former husband, Billy Ray Thornton; One grandson, Aaron William Meadows; His special companion of five years, Wilma King and the mother of his children, Caroline Shrewsbury of Matoaka; Siblings, Wanda Garretson & husband Ivan of Lerona, Marsha McKinney & husband Thermon Lacy of Huntington, David Shrewsbury & wife Doris of Hobart, IN, Stanley Shrewsbury & wife Rita of Lashmeet and Debbie Mabe of Princeton. His most loving 4 legged companion, Tasha Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jerry Heaton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military honors under the direction of the WV Honor Guards. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
