Reverend George Williamson, Jr., 90, of Mallow Avenue (Green Acres) Princeton went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012 at Princeton Health Care Facility. Born September 20, 1921, at Beards Fork, he was the son of the late George Williamson Sr. & Dorothy Buckland Williamson. George was a former coal miner having worked in the industry for 10 years. He devoted over fifty years of his life preaching and pastoring the work of God in West Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Illinois and retired as pastor of the First Church of God at Corrine. George was devoted to serving his Lord, his family and friends; he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children; Roger Lewis Williamson, and Dorothy Jean Davis, along with two siblings; Billy Williamson and Florence Alice Painter. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving and caring wife of 48 ½ years, Connie Evelyn Whittaker Williamson; One daughter, Ruth Ann Martinez of W. Covina California; 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one brother and his wife, Bobby & Nellie Williamson of Delaware. A service to celebrate the life of Pastor George Williamson Jr. will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2012 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Charlie Shrewsbury officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield VA. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
