Jennifer D. White Dent, 60, of Cottonwood Court, (JoHo Estates) Princeton died early Saturday morning, January 7, 2012 at her home following a short illness. Born September 30, 1951 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Louis E. White and Anna Lee Nash White. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Aubrey Nash and Rena Neely Nash and her paternal grandparents, Giles White and Leafy J. Holdren White. Jennifer was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1968 and the Executive Secretary School, Class of 1969. Jennifer had served as a Professional Secretary all of her working career, beginning in 1968 with Concord College in Athens until 1974. She then was employed by Rockwell International from 1974 until 1977. Jennifer then began a long career with Smith, Lilly & Ball PLLC until her death, spanning more than 35 years. She was a former member of the Professional Secretaries International and a former volunteer with Princeton Community Hospital. Jennifer was a member of Sassy Sisters Red Hat Society. Jennifer never met a stranger and had many friends throughout the area. She loved shopping and going on trips with her family and friends. Jennifer was a beautiful person, both inside and out and will long be remembered for her radiant smile and her proper dress. Jennifer will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband, James E. Dent, her brother Danny White & wife Joyce of Athens, And sister, Carolyn Granger & husband Rick of Peachtree City, GA; Step Children, Christy Smith & husband Kevin of Bluefield, Kenneth A. Dent & wife Kim of Gray TN, Michael Dent & wife Heather of Bluefield; Ten Grandchildren and four great grandchildren who loved and adored her. Two faithful and loving pets, Ozzie & Bandit. Brother in law, Wayne & Vickie Dent; Sister in law Beverly Sue Sexton. On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 AM, we will celebrate a life well lived. Her services will be held in the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Jim Stanley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum, Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.. A time of gathering and sharing will be held on Monday from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Young, Freddie Goodall, Steve Brady, Kemper Powell, Geoff Hunter and Roy Harman. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Mercer County Human Society, P.O. Box 6069, Bluefield WV 24701.
